Dana Street

Westbrook, Maine

Dana Street is a new mixed-use project located in downtown Westbrook.

Originally the site of Westbrook's local paper, the American Journal, the redevelopment will bring 110 new residences and 5,000 square feet of commercial space. The design takes inspiration from the Presumpscot River, which is characterized by variations in elevation, contours and textures, while the building's scale and proportions mirror the historic mills from Maine's industrial past. By breaking the building's mass into angled wings, view sheds have been preserved, while also creating natural gathering spaces for residents and connection points to the city's network of trails. The building will incorporate mass-timber, and other sustainable living targets, including rooftop solar panels, all electric mechanicals, and geothermal heating and cooling. Amenity spaces are provided in the form of a lounge and co-working area, state of the art fitness center, a riverwalk, and a rooftop deck with views to downtown and Saccarappa Falls.
